Installation view from Horizon

HORIZON

Sound and video installation.

CABIN/ET's first project is self referential, it is the story of a journey on a container ship from Thamesport to Montreal, across the Atlantic.

Accompanying an image of the horizon taken from the ship, as it rises and falls, is a 1 1/2 hour narration. This narration tracks, like a diary the thought processes of Tom Wolseley as the journey unfolds, how the expectation and desire for escape of the departure meets the experience of slow material movement across the alien world of the mid ocean.

A slowly rotating mirror reflects the horizon, as viewed form the ship, around the interior of the container.

you can here the sound track here.

It is 1hr47mins long. It is a large file.
