the large amount of thermal mass will have repercussions if the building is not in use all the time, such as holiday use
we are also now looking at external insulation so will be also using the interior wall of the cavity wall.
we are now thinking of using the thermal mass of the ground floor slab, which subject to tests appears to be in the region of 7mx7mx1.5m.
the building has four large pits in the floor. which could be used as heat reservoirs

probably 3 Kw, maybe the new 6kwhttp://www.vweltd.co.uk/English/view/About/http://www.vweltd.co.uk/English/view/About/shapeimage_7_link_0shapeimage_7_link_1

originally i wanted to design a direct wind powered heat pump:

is it possible to use some of the cooling of the heat pump for refrigeration. possible through an external cold reservoir.
using water pumped up directly from aquifer 2.5m below building, in the shingle. very small amounts of salt at high tide

with also some new timber frame windows.
or my personal favourites are the swedish old fashioned double glazing units made from two single glazed windows opening out and in. What is the life span of normal double glazed unit.
double glazed. It would be nice to keep some of the existing Crittal windows if it were possible to get them up to spec.

or for use as a built in dehumidifier. The sea mists that roll in can make the place very damp.
Wind powered ventilation, using twin pipe heat recovery. In the manner of a boiler flue. Using wind cowls.

wood stove
modeled on ‘rocket stove’: hand made with water jacket on flue.
cavity wall insulation:
BASF Walltight K=0.025w/mk
external wall insulation: 140mm celotex ga 4000.

a very brief overview of some of the ‘intentions’ for energy management at the Dungeness Link House
is it possible to use the wood stove to supplement the heat of the heat pump, by perhaps using a central heat reservoir in one of the large cable pits to be found in the floor
vertical turbine due to proximity to buildings and noise issues
using underfloor heating
